Chris Marker films at the Paramount.

So excited about this one. In conjunction with Arthouse/AMOA’s amazing current exhibit “The Anxiety of Photography”, we’ll be showing two of my very favorite films at the Paramount on Sunday, November 13. Chris Marker’s SANS SOLEIL and LA JETEE are like trips to another world. From the still image scifi of the short (which would later be adapted into Terry Gilliam’s gem 12 MONKEYS), to the haunting travelogue of the feature Marker uses the power of his images to transport you while never denying the basic humanity that he wants to capture.

With these films, seeing them on 35mm is an absolute must. We’re delighted to present them as they were meant to be show. Hope to see you at the theatre!
